Aboriginal Programs

Kurri Kurri High School has various programs in place to meet the academic, social and cultural needs of our 62 Aboriginal students and ensure the integration of Aboriginal education across the curriculum for all students.  Providing information on community, country and culture is integral to this process.

Our programs include support in the areas of literacy and numeracy, essay writing, planning, time management and subject selection for future career paths.  Our Aboriginal students are supported with their learning through the In-Class Tuition program as well as after school small group tutorials.

Aboriginal Education has been embraced at Kurri Kurri High School.  This includes providing curriculum based and cultural activities involving a partnership with parents and Aboriginal community members.
